This classic tale of a man's unjust imprisonment and his remarkable struggle for survival and escape is told in colorful, feature length animation. When Edmond Dantes is appointed Captain of "The Pharaon", two jealous shipmates plot to frame him with the phoney charge of conspiring with the exiled Napoleon against France. Charged with treason, Dantes is sentenced to life imprisonment in the dark, desperately dungeons of the chathrough one of the prison walls and encounters fellow prisoner Abbe Faria: together they plan a tunnel escape. While digging, the dirt ceiling caves in on Abbe killing him - but not before be presents Dantes with a map of a treasure makes him a wealthy man. Now be initiates his long-planned revenge against those who tried to destroy him.
